New York City-based graphic designer James Campbell Taylor, who previously turned the city’s neighborhoods into corporate logos, has a new project in which he reimagines World Cup posters from 1930 to 2014.

With this year’s World Cup in Brazil fast approaching, Taylor decided to look back on 84 years of poster design, putting his own imprint on the artwork of each tournament while staying true to the feel of the original.

With their lovely vintage aesthetic and distinct style, the striking posters celebrate the history of graphic design while paying homage to the beautiful game.

View the entire collection at Taylor’s website, and see the original posters that inspired his project here.
